Kick Excuses Goodbye!

Have you heard of Rene Godefroy? That’s his picture on the left. If you haven’t, he is a success story – and his journey to success is (or was) harder than yours or mine will ever be. He was able to achieve success and most of us make great excuses on why we won’t or don’t!

Take Rene’s story for example. He was born in an impoverished village in Haiti where diseases pounded him. He was only 9 months old when his mother left him to look for work in order to provide for him. He had to take care of himself since he was a kid.

Finally, at age 7, his mother sent for him. They lived in a shack with rats and roaches. They lived there! And most of us won’t walk into a restaurant if there is any sign of rats and/or roaches! There were times the rats would even bite his feet!

He arrived in America with a pair pants, two shirts, $5, and he did not speak English. He worked in the streets, earned a little money washing dishes, and washed cars in the streets of Miami.

Flash Forward –

He is living the American dream now and enjoying the good life. He is a keynote speaker at conferences and Fortune 500 companies.

He did not make any excuses. He went from a rat-infested shack to a 5 star hotel and travels the world.
