Success & Motivation – Ask for help!

I believe this in my heart…

After reading books by former pastor, John C. Maxwell and my favorite minister from the Bahamas, Myles Monroe, who both inspire and teach leadership, this quote, Heaven never helps the man who will not act” made me realize that: every aspect of self improvement, motivation in the workplace, relationships with your children, spouse, and friends, and any endeavor you have on your plate where you want success, begins and ends with ‘help’. If your higher power is God – then heaven will help you if you ask but will ONLY help if you take action.

I can’t plead for help yet sit in bed all day. The help will come as you struggle and pound away! If you say, “God will show me the way” but you aren’t doing anything to look down the road, this is using God as crutch.

I justed wanted to add to this post a little. There is a great story/parable about a family who was caught in a flood. A man in a truck came and offered a ride out of town and they stayed and prayed, believing in their hearts that God would take care of them. The water rose and they moved to the second floor. A boat came by offering to get them to safety and they refused and said God will take care of them. The water rose further and they moved to the roof of the house. A helicopter dropped a ladder and said last chance to get out. They refused again and were all washed away and died. When they got to heaven they asked God why he hadn’t saved them when they prayed and had belief…God replied “Who do you think sent the truck, boat and ladder.”

I love this story and use it all the time about my life and how I FINALLY got in touch with ‘my higher power’ GOD!

All the ‘rescues’ were there. Over and over and I passed them up. And then it hit me, far away from home, with my wife, in a room full of 6,000 people there for not God, but for other reasons. But it was in that room where i realized, this is the helicopter. If I didn’t get on it then I BELIEVE IN MY HEART I would have drowned before today.
