Self Improvement and Motivation –

A simple secret revealed –

Being Thankful

We share a simple secret that true leaders only know!

This is the perfect time to be thankful – it’s Thanksgiving!

The great leaders of top companies show that they appreciate their staff and are thankful for their contributions from the lowest level to the highest. Parents who show honest appreciation to their children are the greatest parents in the eyes of their children as well as the people around them!

From great books like, “Good to Great” by Jim Collins to “How to win friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie, there is a message, an underlying simple secret, and that is on being thankful.  The path to accomplished leadership and achieving success is in this simple virtue – be thankful!

Most of the greatest leaders of the companies referenced in Jim Collins’ book show their appreciation to the people in the company. Dale Carnagie impresses upon us to begin with praise and honest appreciation. With the key word – honest! These concepts all revolve around a simple theme – being thankful!

CreateYourMind’s self improvement and motivation podcast, “The Success and Opportunity Readiness Track – Podcast #11: Do You Say Thankful and Ask for Help” shares a secret on being thankful! And it is incredibly simple!

Be thankful for everything around you. You are blessed, and you must return the blessing. Say “thank you” and show honest appreciation to someone’s complement or pat on your back, or a simple gift. Just say ‘thank you’.

Here is the drama – here is the secret – here is why the leaders and the successful people are who they are:

If you are thankful for what you have, you will end up having more.

It is absolutely true. The great leaders, the people who achieve the most, the self improvement and motivation gurus who teach success and life’s fulfillment are all thankful for what they have before they even had it!  And in return, they influence this incredible trait on the people they are thankful for!

They show honest appreciation to everyone around them, everyone who helped them achieve success and everyone who gave them encouragement and the path to where they wanted to go.

An ungrateful attitude cannot be found from these individuals. If you find an ungrateful attitude from leaders of success, there is something wrong, they haven’t prepared themselves for success and soon enough, it will crash all around them. These are the individuals that will never be happy with what they have, even if it is millions of dollars: beware – this is not success, this is not leadership, and if this is what you want, you will not be happy.

Self improvement and motivation is led by being thankful. Be grateful. Show honest appreciation to those who encourage you and say ‘thank you’ whenever you possibly can!

This is a simple secret revealed that most are not aware of. Many are naturally thankful, look at these people, they are also incredibly happy and believe it or not, are incredibly successful human beings!

“A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all other virtues” Marcus Tullius

There are many virtues. Honesty, hopefulness, trustworthiness, balance – but being thankful is the parent of all these virtues. If you are a virtuous person, then being thankful should be from the heart. Do not neglect this important part of self improvement and motivation, be thankful and watch your successes continue to grow!

I love the sentence “If you are thankful for what you have, you will end up having more.” Many people didn’t do it… They always want the new thing rather than be thankful, yes, most of friends always thinking about having a new car, but they are not thankful for having their old car..
