Self Improvement and Motivation – Brainpower
Self Improvement and Motivation – Brainpower
“Nourish the mind like you would your body. The mind cannot survive on junk food.” Jim Rohn
Here is the incredible goal: A 2 year college education, 36 books read, and 21,900 ideas! All accomplished from your car and 20 minutes a day for 3 years! WOW!
The more clean water you continue to pour into a bucket, the more the dirty water comes out. Keep pouring the clean water in and sure enough, all the dirty water is cleaned out!
The same goes for your brain. Keep feeding it great information on a continuous basis and your brain will improve, and your brain power will gain some serious muscle and self improvement and motivation will be achieved!
Get your brain to start working. This is key to increasing brainpower and self improvement and motivation. If you work your brain on a daily basis, and fill it with positive and educational information, analytical skills and brain storming comes easier, and your educational level will improve even when you are not in school.
Here are 3 Self Improvement and Motivation Tips to increase your brainpower every single day!
1. Listen to CDs in the car (University on Wheels)
2. Read 15 minutes a day
3. 20 ideas in 5 minutes
Some say taking 15 minutes a day to play solitaire on the computer is a good way to work the left side of your brain – to work the analytical side and take time out from what you regularly do. Unfortunately, most (especially your boss) think playing solitaire is a waste of time.
Self improvement and motivation does not include solitaire as part of your daily routine. Sure, it helps the problem solving skills which increases brain power, but there are so many other things you can do in order to productively increase brain power.
These tips are productive ways to increase brainpower without allocating too much time out of your day to do so.
The first two tips are straight from our self improvement and motivation podcast: “The Success and Opportunity Readiness Track – Podcast #7: Dirty Water & Higher Power”
1. Listen to CDs in the car (University on Wheels)
Self improvement and motivation can start from your car! A USC study found that people who drive in a metropolis area and listen to educational CDs while commuting at least 12,000 miles a year, will, in three years, be equivalent to a two year college education!
“Formal education will make you a living. Self-education will make you a fortune.” Jim Rohn
Instead of listening to the morning talk show, or Britney Spears, or classical music because you believe this stimulates your brain, listen to educational material, self improvement CDs, or books on ‘tape’ during your daily commute! This ould be the most important brainpower tool we have and it is at the tip of our fingers!
Self-education, as Jim Rohn states, will make you a fortune. Self improvement and motivation starts with your brain, and filling your brain through self education is key to success!
2. Read 15 minutes a day
Schedule a time in the morning, during a lunch break, or right before you go to sleep and read for 15 minutes. Make it a habit every single day. If it is two pages that you can read in 15 minutes, then read two pages. If it is ten pages, get in those ten pages.
This is the greatest asset, the greatest educational brain filler that millionaires do not neglect. If a millionaire is the gauge to your own success, then why not do what they do?
The greatest leaders in the world read. They believe knowledge is power. Without it, they would not be as successful as they are. Their self improvement and motivation was built on reading!
Reading 15 minutes a day is like reading a book a month. That’s 12 books in a year!
Think about it: if you listen to CDs on your daily commute and read for 15 minutes a day, in three years you will have a 2 year college education and have read 36 books! This is more than what a college student does in their 3 years of college and they pay a huge tuition for it. You can basically do it for free and increase your brain power and your self improvement and motivation!
3. 20 ideas in 5 minutes
This tip is part of our self improvement and motivation podcast: “The Success and Opportunity Readiness Track – Podcast #8: Ideas from above”
The last tip is a daily brain storming session to really work things out of your brain after you have filled it. “20 in 5” is a daily, yes daily, session to list 20 ideas in 5 minutes. Set a specific time of the day to do this, get a stop watch, and give your self 5 minutes and only 5 minutes.
Make a list of 20 ideas and keep it at 5 minutes. These ideas can be tasks to do during the day, it could be short term or long term goals. It could be as simple as, learn how to make a chocolate cake or, go to the grocery store today in stead of tomorrow. You will find, as you continue to do “20 in 5” it will take less than 5 minutes and in that time, you have created 20 ideas… on a daily basis!
The biggest obstacle and biggest excuse people have when it comes to self improvement and motivation is that they do not have time. These tips are catered just for you. Listen to CDs during your daily commute, 15 minutes of reading, and 5 minutes of ideas.
The only actual ‘time’ you are fitting in to your life is 20 minutes. You are already driving so that ‘time’ does not count. Before, driving and listening to the radio was wasted time, now, it is brain power and self improvement and motivation time!
Keep this in mind: In three years you have filled your brain with powerful information. That’s a 2 year college education, 36 books, and 21,900 ideas! Wow!
Self improvement and motivation is key to your success and increasing your brain power is part of the positive transition in a successful new you!
