Team Building

The first site I searched on Team Building was this:

Top 10 Reasons for Team Building
1. To gain dynamic rapport among team members.
2. To open the climate for streamlined communication.
3. To stimulate creativity.
4. To discover new ways of strategizing and solving challenges.
5. To surface hidden problems & agendas.
6. To appreciate individual differences and strengths.
7. To learn trust.
8. To welcome and handle change.
9. To strengthen teamwork and motivation.
10. To learn and have fun at the same time!

I’d like to say I had some sort of influence in our department’s decision to do an off site meeting for Team Building. After a lot of hard work from Brandy, our manager, it happened. She proposed the idea a few months ago, she then planned the event and solicited ‘prizes’ from local business to donate. The big one was a Guitar Hero game that our department donated to the hospital.

Our days have been very stressful at the office. Budget meetings nearly every day mixed in with other daily responsibilities can put an analyst on edge. I speak from experience. So a Team Building Day fit right smack into the middle of the week was a very welcome and pleasant break from the norm’.

We still had the pressures of the work day, but we were able to take about about 3 1/2 hours for a lunch meeting and then a scavenger hunt around Hollywood.

It was hot, it was tiring but it was fun. Three sets of teams of 3 and we fulfilled most of the tasks on the list.

By 3:30 we were back in the office having learned a little bit about our teammates and having welcomed change, trust, creativity and most of the 10 things on the above list.

It was a long, tired, but fulfilling day at work and I believe the 10 of us really had a good time!

And after a long day at work I presented the MonaVie opportunity at a tasting party at my house. Its been a while, but the refocus is there and I’m more motivated than ever!

I also found a PERFECT “Frazz” comic strip that says EVERYTHING about Network/referral Marketing, life in general, and the expecations of success.
