Who Moved My Cheese?
Self Improvement and Motivation
Do you want a quick, good read on self improvement and motivation?: Then you have to read this book!
I breezed through “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson M.D.
I’ve been meaning to read this for several months now as it was recommended reading by Brig Hart. This past week a few coworkers were discussing it and as I knew the basic premise, but I had not read it to really discuss the book thoroughly.
The topic of ‘controlling your own actions’ and ’staying away from the results’ as you can’t determine results were reasons the book was brought up in our short discussion.
Upon reading it, the book is about change. It’s about self improvement and motivation. It’s about people controlling their own actions to achieve results – BUT – not being able to control or determine results. You can only move, by change, to attempt desired results. You can’t control them because someone, sometime, may move your cheese, and you’ll have to change (take action) to find it again.
The main point: some people just sit around, they don’t take action, but they want certain things to go their way. Then there are people who get up, take action, and make the change to self improvement.
I recommend this book to ANYONE looking for self improvement and motivation, for people looking to change, and for those who question why there are two types of people out there: the type who want more from life and go get it, and those that just sit around wanting more, but do NOTHING about it.
Read the book! It’ll take you an hour for the story, and just a little bit more time in your life to read the discussions that follow. It’s worth it.
